Today you are looking at a brass bird cage from my personal collection. It was made by the andrew b. Of new haven, conn. And was featured in the 1930 trade catalog. It is not seen in the 1926 or the 1932 catalogs. Surprisingly, for such a great-looking cage with lovely lines, it had a short life. Check out the photos. You’ll see that the cage as well as the pyralin feeders were patent pending. What a unique, rare cage!! If you are a serious bird cage collector, this may be just the cage for you! This cage has brass wires that are intact. There is a unique swirl in the wires in the top third of the cage. There is an “orange” theme that is seen on the cage accent wires, enameled tray and the pyralin feeders. The base and front door are both labeled with the hendryx name. The spring is not intact but the door closes securely with a latch. There is a screen seed guard around the bottom 1/3 of the cage. There are a few minor tears in it. The cage is secured to the base of the cage with 3 swivel hook latches. They are intact and functional. There is a pull-out tray with a brass facing that pulls out somewhat reluctantly. The enameled tray shows very little sign of use. I don’t know if this cage ever housed a bird! This cage comes with the original round swing and one feeder perch. It comes with 2 very-hard-to-find original pyralin hendryx feeders. Pyralin cages were offered in the 1926 catalog, but the non-breakable pyralin cups weren’t seen until the 1930 catalog. The cage is 15.5 in. Tall not including the loop and has a 10 in. I have over 40 hendryx cages. It’s difficult to part with them, but i know that there are other collectors ‘out there’ who will give them good homes. Mark me as a “favorite” and watch my items for sale. I include a lot of information in my listings so you can know the history of the cage and get a feel for it. I take a lot of pictures to aid in my descriptions. Please check them out. This is the cage you are getting. Your cage will be well-packaged. I leave feedback for you and would appreciate it if you would leave feedback for me. This is the only way i know you have received the cage and are happy with it. Please contact me if you have any concerns. I also hope you will be a return customer and come back and check out my other cages. Thank you for looking. Have a blessed day.
