Incredible Antique Vintage Bird Cage With Steeple & Stand

I’m a modest collector of antique and vintage bird cages. Unfortunately due to space limitations my collection has to be pared down. This is the easiest cage I’ve ever owned to clean. Part of that is due to the large access door that enables easy maintenance. Also, due to the cage venting being made of wire you can simply take a light brush scrubber to remove bird poop. Makes it a breeze. IMHO-Most bird cages are ugly. Typically most don’t have a look that adds to your house. This one is a different story. It’s absolutely beautiful and gets compliments all the time. It also makes relations with your feathered friends easy. Reaching into a cage through a small opening isn’t the most comfortable feeling for many birdies. With this cage I’ve put a screw on perch on the inside part of the door so they have a place to hop to when the access door is opened. This makes interacting easy and non stressful. Though it’s really difficult to gauge how old the cage is, someone I trust seems to think the 40′s is a reasonable assessment, but please don’t hold me to this. About a year ago the red color which the cage was-was showing it’s age. It needed a facelift. I found the red to be too bold and opted for a seafoam green as it blended in rather than stood out. Bird safe paint was selected and the job was done by a luxury auto painter with 20 years experience. As for the dimensions. The hexagonal cage is 21″ across and approximately 36″ high. On the stylish stand the combined height is roughly 71 tall. You’ve heard the old adage they don’t make’em like they used to well overused. That really is the case here though. The issue with most antique/vintage cages is that they’re generally way too small and thus cruel to put a bird in. With these measurements there are no worries with that as long as you’re reasonable. The very minor warts. Keep in mind this cage could be 70 or 80 years old. There are areas of the wiring which have separated and been repaired. For the most part not something readily noticeable. The reason I mention is if you’re looking for “brand new” perfection, this probably isn’t the cage for you. Likewise, if your bird’s breed is a bar chewer/escape artist, it’s probably too large for the cage. Note the top gold accents that were added. This is because a couple of wires at the top of the cage were bending a bit. Putting these in reinforced it while also dressing it up nicely. In over 10 years of collecting I’ve only seen 2 others of this cage and I humbly say that neither was remotely approaching being this nice. The cage has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready to go. It’s at the front of my garage, so the p/u can be touchless. As long as it’s understood that I won’t assist with this and that once the cage is out of my possession that you agree the cage is 100% yours. Obviously this cannot be a return scenario. If you have any questions, even simple ones, it’s best to ask in advance. I’m happy to answer all.
